Preparing an A+ Book Report

Book ReportBook reports are rather common assignments at school. However, some students still do not know what information should be included into book reports and how to write them. This article will help you learn writing good book reports!

Get started!

Usually, reports on books should begin with the presentation of the book’s title and its author. This part of book reports does not require details or a full overview of the book under consideration. Just write something like “In my book report, I will consider “The Sun Also Rises” by Ernest Hemingway”.

Write about the setting of the book

Where and when do the actions take place? Describe the setting of the book in a few sentences.

Tell about the main characters

Preset the main characters of the book in brief. Who and what are they? How do they get along with each other? Tell about it in your report on the book.

Present the problem or conflict of the book

Every book introduces an internal as well as external conflict or problem. You have to determine it while reading the text and present the main point to the reader while writing your book report.

Tell about the main events

Every report on a book should have a section called “The Main Events”. Remember, “the main” means “the most important,” but not the most interesting to you. So, think over the events that build the plot of the story itself and present them in your book report.

Draw a conclusion

Sum up everything said and express your opinion in this part of your book reports.
