APA Research Paper Peculiarities |
Many students argue that the style or format guidelines are sometimes more important than the actual content of the paper. These students point out that various writing styles make the process of study only more complicated. On the other hand, teachers strongly support such writing formats as APA or MLA, since all papers are organized in the similar way, which saves their time.
Defining APA style
APA stands for American Psychological Association, one of the most widespread writing styles. It is usually used to provide an appropriate reference of the cited sources in the research papers.
Requirements for APA research paper:
- Double-spaced APA research paper should be typed on A4 paper with one inch borders on all sides of the page.
- The number of sections of APA research paper depends on the teacher’s requirements, but each part should be placed on the new page.
- APA research paper’s title page should contain the name of the course, paper’s title, name of a student, examiner, and university.
- Page numbers is a compulsory element of an APA research paper, and they are placed in the upper-right corner of the page.
- You may write an abstract of your APA research paper, though this section is not required – it will help your teacher in reading your paper.
- Headings in your APA research paper will improve the overall structure of the paper, since they will introduce your paragraph’s or section’s main idea.
- Finally, the list of references should contain the title “References” in the upper center part of the page. All sources should be listed according to the APA research paper requirenments in this section.
If you keep to all the listed above requirenments, you will never get a B, instead of an A. And do not be afraid of misusage of any writing style.
